Fitness Friday

Hello - I'm alive and back for another edition of Fitness Friday! I feel likes its been a while since I've had a traditional Friday post - life has been pretty crazy in the past few weeks!

Before we move onto the workout of the week for this Fitness Friday, I want to catch everyone up on what is going on over here at Nourish & Thrive.

First off, I interviewed and landed a new job last week as a personal trainer, health coach, and group fitness instructor at Prairie Life Fitness here in Lincoln. I start at the end of June, and I am very, very excited about this opportunity! I knew a few weeks ago that I was hired as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, but I wasn't as sure about the health coaching part. But, after a second interview where I was able to explain my health coaching program, I was hired as a health coach as well!

With this new job, I will be training clients as a personal trainer and health coach, but I will also have the opportunity to teach and lead seminars pretty much about any subject that I desire! This is the part that I am really excited about, as my brain is overflowing with ideas.

I would love to do a seminar all about sugar, and maybe pair that with a 21-30 day sugar "detox." Or, a seminar on strength training, sleep, real food, primary food, meal prepping, or even just health in general would also be super fun!

Like I said - my brain is full of ideas - I need to start focusing in on the target market at Prairie Life Fitness and decide what the clientele will be most interested in. Either way, I am so excited to get started and embark on a new journey.

In other news, I was the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding last weekend. It was an incredible experience, one that I will not soon forget - and I wasn't even the bride! It was so great to be surrounded by friends and family, and have a great hair day as well! It was a classy, gorgeous wedding that was perfectly suited for my friend. I know it won't be long before we are celebrating the couple's one year anniversary!

Otherwise, life is starting to slow down a bit over here. My time at UNL as group fitness manager is slowly coming to end, as I only go into work about once or twice a week. But, I"m still teaching twice a week: Insanity and TRX, both of which I am loving! They are both a nice blend of high-intensity work and strength training as well. I'm excited to see where I can take this classes come fall.

Alright - that's all I have for now. It's time for the workout of the week!

Workout of the Week

Here's the details: perform each movement for 60 seconds, resting 15 seconds after each move. After completing all six moves in the circuit, rest 90 seconds before repeating 3 more times! And there's no equipment needed, making this workout travel friendly!

I'll be back on Monday with a new post, and I'm also working on a new series all about recognizing and decoding our body's most common signals and symptoms. Be on the lookout for that series starting soon!

xoxo Olivia

P.S. Can you believe it's already JUNE!?!?
