New Clothes

March 12, 2018

We all have those clothes in our closet that no longer fit. Maybe they're from decades past, when you were a different size than you are now. Maybe they're from six months ago, when you were a different size than you are now. No matter when we bought them, holding onto clothes that no longer fit only add more stress to our lives.

Don't think ill-fitting clothes can add stress to our lives? Well consider this - you go to put on your favorite spring top from a year ago, and when you look in the mirror, it doesn't look or feel the same. You're pulling and adjusting the top constantly, not feeling 100% comfortable in it or in your own skin. Thus, stress about how you look, how your body's changed, how other people will perceive you ensues.

The cycle doesn't have to be this way.

Instead of holding onto a different time (most likely with the hope that those clothes will fit someday or that they will be your "goal" clothes for when you finally lose the weight or look a certain way), why don't we focus on dressing for our body as we are right now.

A radical concept, isn't it?

What if you bought clothes and dressed in clothes that made you feel amazing and comfortable in your own skin. Clothes that don't pull or require constant adjusting. Clothes that you can put on and instantly feel better about yourself. Clothes that help you become the best version of yourself.

Don't buy into society's idea that smaller is better, that thinner is the ideal. Embrace yourself as you are, "flaws" and all, because in all actuality, those so-called "flaws" are really what makes you you. Show those "flaws" off in clothes that make you feel amazing. Hold your head a little higher. Smile. Stand a little taller. Fake it until you make it, in a sense.

Trust me, that confidence in who you are is 100 times more attractive than walking with your head down, in clothes that don't allow you to celebrate your body.

Plus, it's an excuse to go shopping. You're welcome!
