Mica is widely used across cosmetic formulations (think highlighters, eyeshadows, and pressed powders) to create the shimmery glow we all know and love. But the mica industry comes with some serious transparency issues! We are doubling down on responsibly sourced mica, one of the key ingredients in our color cosmetics. You may have seen the recent segment covering this issue on the Today Show.
We tackled this issue head on and partnered with two trusted organizations, Kailash Satyarthi’s Children’s Foundation and Sourcemap, and have been traveling the world all year long conducting in-person audits of the mines supplying our mica. In the coming weeks, we will be rolling out a documentary showcasing our journey towards responsibly sourced mica and what it took to get here.
