Five Uses for Ground Beef

Updated: Jan 6, 2020

The whole month of August, every Monday I will be sharing a new recipe or collection of PFC balanced meal ideas to help make following a real food template as easy and attainable as possible!

Ground beef is probably one of my top favorite protein sources, likely because I refused to eat it for so many years for fear that it would kill me (thanks society for those irrational fears!). I use it every week in my meal prep, and absolutely love the flavor of ground beef mixed with sea salt and a veggie. Today, I'm sharing my top five uses for ground beef, including a few recipes I have posted on the blog.

This casserole is a regular on my rotation and continues to please everyone I make it for. It is simple to make and can be changed to accommodate most needs and tastes!

This simple saute has such a wonderful flavor from the tomatoes and olives (which I pick out every time I eat it!). You can switch it up and add whatever veggies you have on hand, like a can of diced tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes or a handful of spinach to up the nutrient profile.

This saute topped with avocado has been my favorite breakfast as of late. It's simple and stores super well in the fridge while I eat off of it all week! Plus, if I'm short on time, I can buy a bag of preshredded Brussels to speed up the process.

4. Burgers

Whether I'm making regular sized burgers or mini-burgers (my new personal favorite), this is always a never-fail meal to serve. Lately, I've been making mini burgers on the grill and roasting sliced potatoes to use as the "bun" along with a roasted veggie, Primal Kitchen ketchup and mayo, and raw sauerkraut. They're a hit with all eaters! You could even top a burger with a nice fried egg.

5. Meatballs

Mix ground beef with a chopped onion/veggies and spices of your choice and throw in the oven until they are cooked through! Super simple, and these meatballs can be added to any meals as a quick protein source, along with frozen for future use (which is so nice for those evening where time gets away from you or you just don't feel like cooking!).

How do you use ground beef in your regular rotation? Hopefully these ideas will give you a new recipe to try for this coming week!

xoxo Olivia
