It's been a LONG time since I've posted about Beautycounter, and there's no better way than to restart the sharing of my message about safer skincare than with a sale!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Beautycounter, I will give you the briefest of overviews. Beautycounter is a brand dedicated to bringing safer skincare and makeup products to the masses. There are so many toxic chemicals in our skincare products that have been linked to all sorts of diseases that are allowed to be sold in the US whereas they are usually banned in other countries. This is not okay! Hence why I stand behind Beautycounter, especially for products like sunscreen that goes on our children or lotion that we slather our entire body in. Remember, our skin is our largest organ, so what we put on it MATTERS!
As you can see in the image below, these products are not always as safe as we think. A quick way to check out the products in your bathroom is to search for them on the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep website. Here, you will get a rating for each of your products that have been entered into their database. A number of 1 or 2 is ideal, and you will also be able to see each ingredient and it's possible health impacts.
I know safer skincare products are often more expensive than the Target brand moisturizer, BUT is a couple more dollars on a quality product that will keep you safer and healthier in the long run worth it? Always. Remember - we must invest AND advocate for our health, and it starts with the products we use on our skin every. single. day.

This mascara WORKS! It lasts all day, and finds lashes you didn't know you had.
My Favorite Lotion: Citrus Mimosa Body Lotion
I see people at the gym slather on so much toxic lotion every day after being in the pool or shower. If you do anything like this on a regular basis, do yourself a favor and throw out the Jergen's in favor of something safer!
