My Favorite Things: September

The month is already over half over (what?!), and I'm loving the fall weather and feel in the air. It definitely is one of my favorite times of the year. Here's what else I"m into this month thus far:

1. Tea in a Mason Jar

You can't get anymore basic than this. I've been taking large mason jars, filling them with water, and adding the tea of my choice to it. I can drink it hot from the jar or put it in the fridge to drink cold later at work. I get a lot of funny looks, but it is just so convenient! My favorite teas have been lemon ginger, milk thistle, and mango ginger.

2. Football

This time of the year is my favorite. Football is one every night of the week, and I can have it on in the background whenever I'm working on homework or reading a book. I also joined a fantasy league for NFL this year and have absolutely no idea what's going on, but I'm catching on fairly quickly. Next year, I'll be much more competitive!

3. Curry

I posted my new curry recipe last week, and I can't stop eating it or making it! My appetite has been off a bit lately, so it's been nice to have a food that I actually want to eat and am craving. Plus, with all the veggies, protein from the chicken, and healthy fat from the coconut milk, it is a perfectly PFC balanced meal all in one!

4. Calming the Heck Down

This is by far my favorite thing from this month. Earlier in the month, I was burnt out and exhausted mentally and physically. But after a few days off of work I came back refreshed and ready to get back to work - with one small adjustment. I'm going to calm the heck down and not get so worked up and overworked like I did before. It was past the point of return last time, and I don't want to go back there. That means I'm going to say "no" more often and keep my weekends free so that I have time for self-care and homework, both of which I need to focus on!

Otherwise, I'm enjoying what's left of my birthday month, as well as working on two continuing education courses in addition to my full time job (yay!). I'm excited to see what the rest of the year has in store!

xoxo Olivia
