My Favorite Things: August
August is over half over, and I literally can’t believe where the summer went! Honestly, I’m glad it’s over – it wasn’t one of my favorite summers. Despite that fact, I am looking forward to what the rest of August and the start have in store for me!

1. Grilling
I finally got around to getting a grill, after talking about it for years, and set it up by myself without cussing or throwing things (which I am pretty proud of). It’s nothing fancy; it’s electric, but it does the job and makes the meat I make on it that much better! I don’t usually have time for it during the week, but on the weekends when I have more time, I like to grill a bunch of meat to eat later in the week!
2. Beautycounter Eyebrow Pencil
I received an eyebrow pencil with one of my Beautycounter starter kits that I ordered when I became a consultant, but didn’t start using it until recently (I was just using a cheap pencil from Covergirl instead). But, the day I started to try it, I vowed never to go back! The pencil looks ten times more natural and comes with a brow brush so that I can use it to shape my brows as well. I have the medium shade and use it every day without fail! You can buy it here.
3. Citrus Press
I host a two meal prepping classes at work recently, and one of the participants brought a handheld citrus press that fascinated me, especially with my recent obsession with putting lemon or lime juice in my water. I planned on buying one, but hadn’t gotten around to it when the lady who had had the press at the meal prepping class brought me one as a gift! Finally my timing was right on waiting for something!
4. Mind Pump Media Podcast
Ever a fan of podcast listening while I’m meal prepping, working, or getting ready in the morning, I discovered the Mind Pump Media podcast through another favorite podcast of mine (Girls Gone WOD) and haven’t stopped listening since. The co-hosts are three former male personal trainers with tons of combined experience and expertise. Their approach to fitness and nutrition aligns mostly with what I believe to be true, and they have taught me so, so much (and we all know how much I love to learn!). I highly recommend checking them out here.
