My Favorite Things - August

I say this every time, but I can't believe August is almost over! I feel like there really was no summer - it just went so fast! This month has been most of the same - Holmes Lake, work, lift, eat, sleep, and repeat! But there have been a few new things I'm into lately.

1. K-LOVE

A former co-worker (shout out to Jamie if she's reading this!) listened to K-LOVE, a Christian radio station, quite a bit, and her influence rubbed off on me! I haven't changed my car radio station from K-LOVE in probably two months! I love the positive songs and message, AND they're awesome songs too!

2. Mayo

Mayo is unhealthy, right? Actually, when made correctly with REAL ingredients, it is awesome source of healthy fat! I had been buying Primal Kitchen Mayo for a few weeks, but it is expensive, so I decided to make my own. It is literally avocado oil, egg, salt, water, dijon mustard, and lemon juice. That's it! It is really simple to make in my food processor, and it is so good on literally everything! I'm experimenting with a super high fat template right now, so this fits in my daily mix perfectly.

3. Shoulders

I have always loved "leg day" at the gym because my lower body is much stronger than my upper body. However, I have been enjoying lifting upper body more and more as I become stronger through my consistent efforts. I enjoy a variety of shoulder exercises because no matter what weight I use (light or heavy), I always feel it!

4. Tracie Peterson (an author)

I picked up one of Tracie's books at the library a few weeks back, and I've been hooked ever since! Her books are usually set in the late 1800s or early 1900s, have a Christian influence, and are also subtle romances. Basically everything I love wrapped up in one package! I have read probably eight of her books so far (she's written dozens), and I don't plan on stopping! They're also easy reads, which is exactly what I need after a long day or week.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to September - my 24th birthday is coming up and football will be starting! I can't wait for fall!

xoxo Olivia
