Quick Fixes

I'm asked quite frequently for my opinion about certain products that are supposed to be "super healthy" or perfect for weight loss.

More often than not, my answer is usually "no."

We want and search for that quick fix towards becoming our healthiest (and let's be honest - our thinnest), but honestly, there is no quick fix. There is no magic pill. There is no bar or shake that can transform your health overnight.

What does work is eating real food and exercising. That's what has always worked and will continue to work.

Our body isn't stupid - it knows when we try and give it processed junk, even if this processed junk is "the healthiest kale, quinoa, oatmeal, wheatgrass, chia, unicorn bar/shake/pill."

I'm sorry - since when has a cookie (or bar, shake, etc), even when it's made from unicorn horn extract, even been a healthy option?

Our body knows that this unicorn magic isn't real. It knows its just a filler for the real stuff- real food.

But yet we continue to believe the clever marketing schemes by these smart companies that if we simply buy and eat this unicorn fairy dust, we will finally be healthy and thin and happy.

Here's the hard truth - it won't work. It's not worth your time or investment.

What is worth your time and investment though is real food and moving your body in a way that you enjoy. That is what will make the difference. That is what will change you for the better. That is what will help you find that healthy place.

It's not easy, but it's worth it because it's through that struggle that we learn, truly learn, what works for our body. We are all bioindividual, and becoming your healthiest self means discovering what works for you and what doesn't.

And what doesn't work is the quick fix. What works is the journey of time, effort, and work to become our healthiest self.

xoxo Olivia
