Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

I came across this saying on Instagram last week, and had to take a moment and let this phrase sink in. I talk quite a bit on the blog about being happy, working toward your goals, eating real food - all the wonderful things.
But, there's also another piece that comes with working towards those goals of health and happiness - guilt or shame.
It's all too easy to feel like we aren't doing enough or even that we aren't enough. It's easy to wallow in that self-pity story day in and day out.
But, that doesn't get us any closer to where we want to be. It only pushes us away, further and further back.
Don't wait years and years to recognize how perfect and good you are in this very moment - how very special you are to the people in your life.
I hear people all the time refer to a time in their past when they were much thinner/healthier/richer (whatever it might be), but at the time, they didn't realize it. It was only after many years that they finally realized how good they had it in that moment. I've had plenty of these moments myself too.
Don't let that be you. Be happy with who you are and own it every single day. Love yourself enough to continue to do the best you can every single day. And every day won't be perfect, and that's okay! What matters is that you keep trying and don't place the guilt or shame on yourself.
What matters is that you continue to grow and recognize just how amazing you truly are.
xoxo Olivia
