My Favorite Thing: February
February is nearing its end, which is completely crazy to me. The older I get, the more quickly the days, weeks, and months pass. And I'm only 23 - I suppose it's only going to get worse!
Either way, it's time to share my favorite things from the month of February:
1. Downton Abbey
Since I finished the previous seasons of When Calls the Heart (and had to wait until late February for the next season to begin again), I had to find another show to keep me entertained. I remember when Downton Abbey was on TV when I was in college, but I never really watched it or was interested, but now, it is one of my favorites! The show is set in the 1910s-1920s in Britain, so basically I've been walking around in a British haze for the past few weeks - I want to talk British, live in Britain, and marry someone British! I'm about finished with the final season, and I can't wait to see how it ends.
Back in my low-fat, low-calorie, low-everything days, I avoided avocados at all cost because they were basically pure fat. Now, I'm eating about two a day and loving them! I seriously wonder how my life and brain would've been different if I had been eating more fat in my previous years, but I'm glad I'm eating plenty of it now!
One of my resolutions for the New Year was to take more time for self-care, and I'd say I've been pretty good on keeping up with this resolution. I've been scheduling at least one massage a month, along with taking time away from work and spending time just "being" instead of always having to be busy, busy, busy. It's amazing what a little "me" time can do to your overall well-being.
4. Spending Less
I know that this is true for most people, but I felt like December and January were "let's buy all the things on all the days on Amazon" months for me! I was constantly getting a package for something, but recently, I've been putting the brakes a little bit on extra spending, sticking with groceries and bills.
5. The Weather!
Honestly, when have we ever had a February with such amazing, warm weather?! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to spend a ton of time outside enjoying it, but I did take my small group outside a couple of weeks ago to enjoy the weather. The sunshine does so many good things for me!
What were you loving in February, and what's on your list to try or do for March?
