It's the Little Things in Life

It's so easy to get caught up in the busyness in our lives, never allowing ourselves to be fully present in the moment. Our only focus is on our schedule, what is going on a work, and how fast we can get through our next task.
However, life isn't meant to be like this.
Life is not meant to be joy-less. Life is meant to be joyful!
As much as that may be true, it is easier said than done to make those changes, to be more present in the moment, to create a life without all the craziness.
But, that doesn't mean it is impossible. It all begins with the little things in life.
It's the little things that we do each and every day that add up to the big things.
It's the little chances that are presented to us throughout our day that we take advantage of that make the lasting changes.
It's the little things in life that create a life worth living.
However, if we don't take time to notice and appreciate the little things, we will never know or fully comprehend the meaning behind those little things. This means that we must learn to take a step back, take a look at where we are in life, what we are doing, and the path we are on. Are the little things we are doing every day getting us closer to the best-version/healthiest version of ourselves? Or are the little things we are doing each day leading us down a path to someone we don't want to become.
Here's an example: If every day, you start and end your day with a short, simple prayer of thanks, how much more will each moment throughout the day mean to you because you stopped to appreciate all that fills you with gratitude?
Or, you could start your day by snoozing the alarm five times, groaning and complaining, and yelling at everyone to get ready fast or you'll be late. Because of this rough start, you might not notice the person who holds the door open for you at work, or the bright shining sun above you when you step outside. All you can see is the negative.
Notice the difference? Which life do you want to be living? What path do you want to be on?
It starts with the little things. It starts with small pieces that build up to greater and better things. It's what creates a life worth living.
